Well, Easter has come and gone and with it our final sail before we set of around the country!
We left Tollesbury at 2am on Friday morning, and arrived outside the Ore at noon, leaving us waiting outside the entrance for the tide, and for Good News and Yamas (two other boats) to catch up with us.
On Saturday we motored out of the Ore (making 0.5kts against the tide) and sailed past Harwich to Woolvertone Marina(who have by far the best showers of any marina I've been to!) Easter Sunday morning arrived with a coastal walk to the local Methodist Chapel, and finished with the very pleasant sail out to Walton Backwaters for the night. The final day of the trip involved a long sail against the wind past Walton and Clacton piers and back up to Blackwater to Tollesbury.
It was great to be out sailing in a variety of weathers and winds, and the news sails (thanks to Jeckells) were fantastic!
The challenge now is to reach our target. Click 'donate now' to give at our JustGiving page, or click the facebook icon to follow us on there and spread the word about what we are up to!
Thank you for all your support so far, and please keep in touch
Becky (and Mary)
